Barbara L. Camens

Barbara L. Camens, Principal Proprietor

Barbara L. Camens is the principal proprietor of the Washington, D.C. law firm of Barr & Camens. She represents labor unions in all aspects of labor-management relations and employment law and represents and advises on all legal aspects of employee benefit plans. Ms. Camens has extensive litigation experience before federal courts, administrative agencies, and arbitrators.

After graduating summa cum laude from Ohio State University, Ms. Camens received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she attained Order of the Coif and participated in the Law Review. A member of the District of Columbia Bar, she is a frequent speaker on the topics of labor and employment law. 

Ms. Camens was appointed in 2000 by the joint leadership of the United States Congress to serve on the Board of Directors of the Office of Compliance and previously served as its chair. Her current term with Office of Congressional Workplace Rights expires in May 2022.
